Raft Wars is a uniquely fun worms (scorched earth if you’re old) style game. It features a great hit detection system. Projectiles ricochet and people take damage when they collide into each other. The games item selection is weak, there are only two weapons in addition to the starting tennis ball, and they are only a moderate step up. All the battles take place at sea. The starting raft can be upgraded three times, with each upgrade increasing your party and the room you have to stand on.

The game has about 10 levels (you’ll see why). Each level features different scenery and enemies. The enemies in raft wars are excellent, both graphically and game play wise. As the levels progress, they get more plentiful, with better weapons and accuracy. Overall, the game has a nice learning curve. The game has a simple plot, with a couple cut scenes. After each battle, points are awarded based on time and how many shots you used. Loosing ends the round and earns no money, but any weapons used are still consumed. This scoring system has the effect of making the game harder the worse you do, and is my biggest complaint with the game. The best way to overcome this is to not rely on the special weapons and instead just practice being as accurate as possible with the tennis ball, and get the raft upgrades first thing.

Enemies have hit points, but it is generally faster to knock them into the water. Special weapons are most effective against clusters; in the last level I was able to kill three guys at once with a grenade.

In short, play Raft Wars, unless you absolutely despise this type of game. The action is fast paced, the play control is good and the graphics are excellent!

Fratboy House Wars is a worms-like game, in which you lob books, kegs, dogs, rockets and what might be beer bottles at an adjacent frat house. If you like worms, or scorched earth, you’ll probably like it – and if you do decide to play it, make sure you click the cat in the forth level!

Bloons Tower Defense 2 is the best tower defense game I have ever played.

At first glance, 13 days in hell appears to be quite impressive. The game has a neat occult feel to it, the menus have a 3d book as a back drop, and the game starts by having you sign the ’13 days challenge pact’. Sadly, after a few rounds, the game play starts to get highly repetitive, and what you are left with is a highly-polished, but highly mediocre game.
